What is Counselling and Psychotherapy?

Counselling and Psychotherapy provide a safe and confidential space for you to be able to talk to an experienced counsellor about the things which are troubling you. This could be a general feeling of unhappiness, past events still affecting you today, a negative pattern of behaviour or something that feels too personal to share. There are many reasons for seeking the help of a counsellor.

To be able to achieve the above, it is important for you to feel at ease with your counsellor as you will be working together towards your own personal or relationship goals. I aim to offer a sensitive and trustworthy therapeutic relationship with my clients as I strongly believe that this is at the heart of successful therapy.

I provide the following therapy sessions:

Counselling – Short term therapy, usually 6 sessions or less.

    Psychotherapy – Long term therapy.

Intensive Relationship Recovery Session – This session can help couples who are at a crisis point in their relationship. You may have just discovered your partner is having an affair or that communication has broken down. You may be feeling that emotions are running too high or that you are feeling stuck. In this session, we would look at what your individual needs are within the relationship and how to move forward to a healthier place.

Intensive solution focused Session – If you are struggling with organisation, feeling overwhelmed or would like some help with goal setting and finding direction in your life, this session will focus on prioritising and getting a healthier work/life balance as well as looking at your life as a whole.

Frequent reviews are made during therapy to ensure that the therapeutic work undertaken is meeting your needs.

I believe each client is unique and has the inner resources to make any changes that may be necessary in their lives. My approach is that we work together to enable you to discover how to go about making those changes.
